Da Vinci Exhibit

The Vancouver Art Gallery was offering free admissions during the Olympics and so we decided to drop by earlier there as we heard that they have Leonardo Da Vinci's manuscript in exhibit over there. The exhibit featured pages from Da Vinci's manuscript about the human anatomy.

We all know Leonardo Da Vinci was a genius, but taking a look at his work, how he drew the different muscles, with explanations on how they work, simply amazing! The intricacy of his drawings and all these details, by far way ahead of his time. By the way, they had English versions and description of the manuscripts as these pages were originally written in Italian (correct me if I'm wrong) and written right to left and mirror style.

I was looking for the original Vitruvian Man (that's the only one I'm familiar with) page but it wasn't on display there. However, they still had an area showing a version of the Vituvian Man, that's not so bad.

On another note, they also had an original copy of the book "Gray's Anatomy" on display there. He was a brilliant surgeon who decided to create this book for easy use. I guess we all now know where Grey's Anatomy came from!

All in all, pretty good exhibit. Hoping to go Smithsonian, or even Louvre next, perhaps? Haha

I'd love to go! But like you said, "Leonardo Da Vinci was a genius, but taking a look at his work, how he drew the different muscles, with explanations on how they work, simply amazing!"

Couldn't be more true!
